Two Southern Resident Killer Whales Presumed Dead - Population Drops to 78
The Center for Whale Research is confirming the deaths of two L pod members of the Endangered population of Southern Resident Killer Whales. This brings the population down to 78 members total across all three pods (Js, Ks, and Ls). L53 was born in 1977, a 37- year old female which had no offspring or immediate family living.
