What is NEPA?

For more than 50 years, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) has served as the foundation of reasonable, balanced and transparent protections for our environment. Our health, safety, and environment depend on it.

As an organization that has been working to recover the endangered Southern Resident killer whale (SRKW) population since 1996, we are dismayed with the lack of sensitivity to the SRKWs population and its need for a protected home in accordance with its endangered species status in 2005. Therefore, these proposed changes to NEPA regulations would work directly against any ongoing efforts we, and our members and supporters, engage in.
